About Susan Hunt Apteker

Born and raised in the Athol-Orange area, Susan Hunt Apteker grew up working at the Hunt Farm in Orange while attending Orange Public Schools.

Susan graduated from Mahar Regional High School in 1978 and Fitchburg State University in 1982. She received a Masters Degree in Education (1987) and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education Administration (2011), both from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

For the majority of her 35+ year teaching career, Susan taught in the Orange Elementary Schools. She also taught in Venezuela, Switzerland, Hungary, and Poland.

Susan serves on the New Salem Planning Board, the Orange Recreation Association Board of Directors and the Donald J. Hurtle American Legion #172 Women’s Auxiliary. She is Co-President of Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Mu Women Educators and a volunteer at the Franklin County Fair and the Big E.

Because of her strong community commitment, Susan understands the pulse of the area and knows the North Quabbin Region real estate market inside and out. Since Susan joined Four Columns Realty in January of 2022, her clients have benefited from her insight into the towns she covers, her love of researching homes and her experience guiding buyers and sellers through their transactions from start to finish.

Susan enjoys hiking in the Quabbin, biking, golfing, gardening and traveling. She resides in New Salem, Massachusetts with her husband Bob and is the mother of a son and two daughters.
